Description: Aguascalientes
is one of Mexico's smallest states. The name Aguascalientes, 'hot waters' in Spanish,
refers to the numerous hot springs throughout the state. Aguascalientes began
as a fort to protect wagon trains that were carrying silver from Zacatecas to
Mexico City.
Aguascalientes is the home to many renowned colonial cathedrals
and structures. The city is also famous for its annual San
Marcos Fair 'Feria de San Marcos' which is held from late
April to early May. Expect to see bountiful arts & crafts,
parades, and plenty of bullfights and cockfights.
