Description:
The
state of Michoacan offers an endless variety of attractions
for all visitors. The name Michoacan is a combination of words
from the Nahuatl language that means “fishermen’s
place.” The state is a cornucopia of abundant natural
resources, and is one of Mexico’s leading agricultural
producers.
Variety is king in Michoacan. You can find almost everything
that nature has to offer in Michoacan – from white sandy
beaches to mountains and volcanoes, forests and water-rich
valleys, cool clear lakes and waterfalls, and fields full
of every crop known to man. The town of Angangueo is the winter
home for the monarch butterfly. Every November, the monarchs
from the United States and Canada congregate on this one place
to spend the winter months. The monarch population is so concentrated
here that they cause trees to bend from their weight and the
sound of their wings flapping can be easily heard.
