Description:
Morelos
is named after a hero from Mexico’s war for independence,
Jose Maria Morelos, who led the defense against the Spanish
in the town of Cuautla. One of the smallest states in Mexico,
Morelos is also one of the most densely populated.
Agriculture is the key economic factor in Morelos. The chief
crops are sugarcane, rice, cereals, tropical fruits and vegetables.
Industrial progress is growing in Morelos as well with mining
and the production of automobiles.
The capital city of Cuernavaca - “The City of Eternal
Spring” - is know throughout the world for its fantastic
climate and its sugarcane production. Now a modern tropical
city, Cuernavaca is host to scores of universities and scientific
research institutes. Cuernavaca has been established as an
international learning center for Mexico’s culture,
language and history.
