Description:
The capital city of San Luis Potosi was established
as a mining settlement by the Spanish in the late 1500's.
Today, silver mining is still an important part of the state's
economy, but San Luis Potosi is also a major industrial center.
Due to the state's central location, San Luis Potosi also
acts as distribution center for goods traveling throughout
Mexico. Many of the major highways merge in the city of San
Luis Potosi.
San Luis Potosi has some well preserved colonial areas that
are worth visiting such as the Plaza de Armas.
