Description:
Although Tamaulipas has a long coastline along
the Gulf of Mexico, the state is not really a beach destination.
The marshy coastline is sparsley populated, and is used more
for industrial purposes such as oil refining, commercial fishing,
and shipping.
The border towns of Matamoros and Nuevo Laredo serve as major
ports of entry for visitors driving into Mexico. These towns
offer shopping districts which make for a nice day trip of
shopping and dining.
