Description:
Tlaxcala is the smallest state in Mexico. The state
is named after the local Tlaxcala Indian's. Located in the
highlands east of Mexico City, the state has an average elevation
of over 7,000 feet.
Tlaxcala is not a huge tourist destination, but it makes for
a charming visit for folks traveling near Mexico City. The
capital of city Tlaxcala is small and quaint and is know for
its colorful buildings and murals. The surrounding mountain
landscape makes for some awe inspiring views.
There are also a number of ruins that date back to 600 A.D.
