August is the last full month of summer and there are still plenty of reasons why it's a great time to head to Mexico. The weather is usually hot and dry in Northern Mexico, but there will be plenty of rain in central and southern Mexico during their rainy season. August generally sees fewer international tourists so plenty of good travel deals abound. If you plan to travel along any of Mexico's vast coastline, be sure keep up to date with the weather forecasts since August is known for hurricane activity. And as always, don't forget to purchase your Mexican auto insurance from Adventure Mexican Insurance Services.
Here is a list of holidays and other events going on in Mexico for the month of August:

August 29 to September 5th - Encuentro Internacional del Mariachi y de la Charreria - Mariachi Festival - Guadalajara - Is there anything that screams Mexico more than a Mariachi band? How about hundreds of said bands performing for a week on the streets and in various venues around the city? Perhaps if you throw the band into a restaurant setting with plenty of tacos and cold Corona cervezas with lots of pinatas hanging overhead, but I digress. If you like the festive tones of a great Mariachi band, then you owe it to yourself to attend this annual event that captures the essence of Guadalajara and Mexico itself.
