Bringing Your Vitamins and Supplements Into Mexico is Not a Problem
Crossing the Mexican border with your personal vitamins or dietary supplements is legal and should not cause any problems at Mexican checkpoints.
Most Mexican drug stores and markets sell vitamins and supplements, so Mexican authorities are familiar with seeing vitamin bottles and containers. Also, our customers who take their vitamins with them to Mexico have never reported any problems with the Mexican authorities. So feel free to bring all of your personal supplements with you on your trip to Mexico.
Keep Your Vitamins in Their Original Packaging
It is recommened that you keep your vitamins in their original packaging in order to not draw the curiosity of any Mexican authorities who may inspect your vehicle. Loose capsules could raise illegal drug suspicions, so make sure to keep your vitamins in their original containers.
I just returned from a two week road trip through Baja, and my travel companion and I carried at least 10 different supplements products including vitamins, fish oil capsules, and herbal capsules. The Mexican authorities and US border patrol never questioned us about these products.
