Because Puerto Penasco is only 60 miles south of the Arizona, US / Sonora, Mexico border, Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) is a favorite road-trip destination for thousands of US residents. Puerto Penasco overlooks the majestic Sea of Cortez in Northern Sonora, Mexico. There are numerous hotels, vacation villa and condo rentals, and a few rather upscale resorts to choose from (there are also plenty of RV parks and campgrounds).
