Calafia Area - Mushrooms - Impossibles - Baja Surf Spots

There is a cluster of decent surf spots in front of the Calafia Resort Condos and the Hotel Calafia.

A few miles south of Rosarito Beach and just south of Popotla, you will find the Calafia Resort Condos on the ocean side of the highway. You can't miss them, there are two (now three) giant white condo towers (about 12 stories tall). There are multiple surf spots between the Calafia condo towers and the Hotel Calafia which is just south of the condos.

Impossibles is the break directly in front of the condo towers. Impossibles can be a good left when the conditions are perfect, but the planets need to align properly for Impossibles to be great.

Mushrooms is another break in this area that is on the south shore of the Calafia Resort Condos. This reef break points south, so south swells will light this spot up.

Calafia Point is located in front and to the south of the Hotel Calafia. This point also requires a south swell to get good. Definitely keep Calafia in your options when a decent south swell pulls in, because it can get really nice on a true south.

This entire area is rocky, so make sure to wear your booties, especially at low tide - or you could really chew your feet up.

As far as parking, we highly recommend parking within the Calafia Condos or Hotel Calafia secured parking. You will need to pay for parking and talk to the security guards for permission to park, but you do not want to park out on the open road. Vehicles have been stolen in this area, so bite the bullet and pay for secure parking.
