There are multiple reef breaks in front of the complex, so the area can handle crowds without spoiling everyone's fun. Weekends will be more crowded than weekdays. This spot catches swells from all directions, so there is almost always something to ride. A mix of longboards and shortboards are scattered throughout the various breaks, and there are spots for all skill levels.

If it gets too crowded or Las Gaviotas isn't working for you, you can always venture out in your vehicle to a few of the other nearby surf spots such as K-38, Calafia, or Popotla to the north. Las Gaviotas works as a great home base if you plan to stay a few nights in Baja.

This is more of a family spot - not a party spot, so don't plan on getting too rowdy at night.
